(I think) the profile I was using is missing, so when I launch Minecraft, all of my single player worlds, resource packs, and mods are gone.
Long Version (Details):
Today I was messing around with some texture packs trying to change some of the textures. I was tired of searching for %appdata% to get to my .minecraft folder, so I copied my .minecraft folder and put it on my desktop (This was the last thing I did, so I feel like it is the issue?). Soon I got so frustrated trying to change the texture pack for my creative world that I decided I would come back to it later and would do some PvP. I closed down everything and started up my Minecraft launcher again. However, it had me sign into what I think was my Mojang account. I thought this was weird but I didn't think anything of it. Once I signed in, the Minecraft launcher started downloading a ton of stuff. Also, the profile was my Mojang username, but I'm pretty sure it was usually either 'Optifine 1.8,' 'Forge 1.8,' or something like that. I clicked on edit profile and the version I was using was 'Use Latest Version,' which was 1.9, but I normally use a version of 1.8 with Optifine, Forge, and WorldEdit. However, the only versions showing up were 1.0 through 1.9. I chose 1.8 and it still downloaded a bunch of stuff and when it loaded, none of my single player worlds were there. Then, when I try to change my resource pack and click on 'Open Resource Pack Folder,' an error message pops up and says 'Windows cannot find...' and then then the location of the resource pack folder. If I click on the .minecraft folder on my desktop, I still have all my single player world, mods, resource packs, and versions. If I go to %appdata% and then go to .minecraft, all of the subfolders (resource packs, mods, etc.) are empty.
Sorry I don't have any error logs or reports.
At the time, I was using:
- 1.8-Optifine_HD_U_(Either F8 or G9)
- 1.8-forge1.8-11.14.4.1563
Again, I am no computer expert so any help is useful. Thanks.

Are you sure you copied it and didn't just move it? If so than delete your .minecraft folder from Roaming and copy your copied version of .minecraft into Roaming.
You moved the Game Directory folder(s) w/o updating the Profile settings to let the Profile know where the new folder(s) location is. Try moving the folder(s) back to its original location.

This worked, thank you so much.
