I have 3063MB of RAM dedicated to minecraft and it will use 85% of that and freeze for about 20 seconds and then it will continue normally for a few minutes then it will repeat all over. I originally had 1024MB, it did the same exact thing, increased to 2048MB, same problem, I am completely stumped here, I have no idea what's happening, no matter what amount of RAM I dedicate it uses 85% exactly and then freezes. I have a Dell Precision Workstation with 4GB ram (Yes, I'd love to max it out to 8GB but at $30 or so per 2GB stick forget it, now ECC is like $6-$10 a stick but I hear it has a 2% performance loss), MSI Radeon 6670 1GB Dual-fan, Intel C2D E6300 1.86GHz, I have Optifine and I use shaders every once in a while. I set my render distance to tiny and it still used 85% ram...

What do you mean by "you people".... Heh the funny thing is I've played Minecraft with those same exact JVM args for months now and never had a problem until now
