Minecraft is crashing each time I try to play the game. Was working fine before 1.9 update. Any help or advice is appreciated!

So I originally thought it was crashing due to connecting to LAN but now I realize it is just crashing when I try to play 1.9.
It does not crash if I back it down to version 1.8.9.
