So i bought the game to play with friends already on a realm purchased.
My partner was already playing on said realm with friends and i have purchased and joined the realm they're on.
Now.
Each and every time i try to log in i'am confronted by this error.
"an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" java.io error
She was getting this error but after a few log in attempts it let her play for hours on end, however even when her PC is not even on ( suggesting that two connections from the same internet connection might be an issue (doesn't seem that way) and am still having the same exact issue every time after 20 or so seconds upon logging into the realm)
Interestingly enough i can
- connect to my own realm (free) with out any issue what so ever
- Connect to other minecraft SERVERS with seemingly no issues (not realms)(spent a good 5 min in there)
System: Win 10 - 64bit.
i5 4670k
750ti
game loaded on ssd
Internet connection
D/L 100Mb/ps
U/L 2.5Mb/ps
Things i've done to resolve the issue
-Reinstalled javaSE x 3 times
-Reinstalled Minecraft x 3 times
-Disabled firewall
-disabled Windows defender
-Allowed minecraft and all java files associated within the minecraft directory to be allowed by firewall / even when disabled.
-Port forwarded 25565 and 27294 both TCP & UDP
-Have deleted everything to do with minecraft including registry clean up when reinstalling thrice.
-Full reset of modem ( no avail)
-running in admin and compatibility mode
Where do i go from here? Is it this specific realm that is the issue? how do i resolve that? why can others and my partner connect with out (mostly) no issues?
Thanks

I am having the same issue. I purchased a realm and I am the only one on the server that gets that same error message. I believe it only affects the hosts. Maybe this has something to do with us not being in the "player" list within the realms settings.
