Ok i didn't know if i was supposed to put this on modded or unmodded because this is on 1.9 and forge versions.
It started when i was playing modded minecraft for aether sailors with my friend at first i just thought it was just my computer unable to handle the pack but then i tried to run a single mod and the same amount of lag occurred so what i did is i tried opening 1.9 and still the same lag.
This occurs on the title screen and in game (if i can even get in game) then i checked 1.7.10 without forge and no lag so then i checked 1.8.9 no lag
I've install forge and 1.9 only recently so i thought that would be the case but i'm not sure.
Have you tried turning off V-Sync in the video settings? This worked for me. I experienced terrible lag after updating to 1.9 and it turned out to be v-sync causing the problem.
If you have that off, check and be sure you have it turned off on the hardware side as well. If that doesn't fix the problem, then I am not sure what it is. Another user mentioned that you needed to have V-Sync and VBOs on, but it was the opposite case for me.
