bad news... So my 1.7.10 modded survival was really getting popular on my YT... I went to go live stream a little while ago in celebration of hitting 100 subs and saw 1.9 came out, in my excitement and talking I accidently opened my 1.7.10 with 1.9....
Now when I try to launch with 1.7.10 client it just crashes out after a brief period... Is there absolutely no way of fixing this? It rather sucks because the last three episodes have been about me getting married and then the wedding day (MCA) and that's what was making it really catch on (plus all the new subs)...
I'd really hate to start over... I can send a crash report if needed but if I'm not mistaken it's screwed... I have a back up from dec 7 but it's VERY old (older than you'd think)...
Unfortunately, your world is corrupted, no logs required, since you loaded a modded world into vanilla; worse, 1.8 (and 1.9) changed the way the game saves item IDs and going back to an older version (including from vanilla 1.8+ to vanilla 1.7.10 or earlier) will wipe all items (inventory, chests, dropped items, items held by mobs, etc), and otherwise modded blocks will be wiped unless they happened to have the same ID as blocks added in 1.8-1.9. You may even have chunk corruption (missing/regenerated chunks due to errors when trying to read 1.8+ data, or conversely, 1.9 trying to read modded items/entities/blocks).
The only way to recover is to use a backup, or if you have Windows, try right-clicking the folder for your world save (%appdata%\.minecraft\saves\worldname) and view properties to see if you can restore to an older version.

Thanks yea that's what I thought. You'd thinking Mojang would implement a feature that when you go to load a different version map than the client you're using it will automatically make a backup. That'd be the most handy feature ever. Sad something good got ruined by such a garbage update.

Did you try restoring to an older version? At least in Windows you can easily restore to a backup by right-clicking the folder and click "restore previous versions", other OSs may have a similar capability:

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
