I had Minecraft installed on my Windows 8, and it ran fine. I upgraded to Windows 10, and Minecraft stopped working. It told me the graphics drivers were out of date, which wasn't the case. The real issue is that Windows 10 relocated the drivers, and Minecraft can't find them. Now I'm taking a survey. Who else had this happen?

Windows 10 is known to mess around with graphics drivers, which can cause this error to occur. Just go to your GPU manufacturer's website (or if it's an OEM PC from some store like Best Buy, JB HiFi, etc, go to the brand's website, ie Acer, Asus, etc) and find the latest drivers for your system, and install them.

Windows 10 completely replaces all the drivers on your computer with new "Windows 10" versions.
Windows 10 is a completely different version of Windows, as was Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
Hardware support stops after some number of windows versions. Some hardware lost support between 8 and 8.1, other hardware lost support between 8.1 and 10.
Therefore, Not all hardware has custom drivers for Windows 10.
Generic drivers rarely fully support your hardware as well as custom drivers do.

I had the "Need to upgrade graphic drivers" message when I switched to Win 10 but upgrading the drivers fixed it.
So I have no idea whether Win 10 messed with the drivers or if they needed upgrading.
MC is mostly running fine, sometimes (mostly if I've been playing for a long time) it gets laggy and I have to close down and restart MC.
Just testing.
