I recently started a single player server and am using Forge 1.8 with WorldEdit 6.1 installed.
The game is so slow now as to be nearly unplayable. When I just deal with it and play anyway, I get dizzy and a headache after only a few minutes, so I really need to figure this out.
I have already set all the graphics to minimum and the view distance to 8 chunks. This did help, but not much. Any suggestions on how to speed things up?
If it helps, I am running a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. The computer has 12 GB of RAM, a dual-core 3.2GHz processor, and the video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450.
Slow as in FPS? Have you done crazy things with WorldEdit because that can cause issues depending on what you do with it. Also, when you press F3 does it say that your allocated memory is at 100%?

Yes, slow FPS. I checked it just now, and it is at 60 FPS when I'm sitting still, but quickly goes down to 20 when I start moving. F3 showed my allocated memory to be at about 80%.
I was on a server with WorldEdit before this, and got used to it being slow when I'm doing big stuff, but this is different. It is slow the moment I enter the game, before I do anything WorldEdit or otherwise, and doesn't go away.
