So I got a new computer a while back in December. I lost all my Minecraft worlds, some of which were actually pretty good. I know I backed up my worlds, but I have no clue how that can help me. Can anyone help me get my worlds back???

So you didn't back up your old worlds to an external source and the original source is gone. I think this case is solved fella's! Pack up the van, we're heading back to HQ!
For the record, backing up any data is only helpful if you remove the backup from the original source.
Your saves are only wherever you put them. If the only place they existed is now Best Buy scrap, then they are gone forever.
You didn't migrate your data off your old computer?!

Your worlds are on your old computer.
Well your worlds are on your old computer. If you still have it you can put a USB into it and take the files and put them onto your new computer
And if you don't have a usb, you can probably just buy a super cheap 1 gB usb which probably won't cost mor'n 5 dollars.
OR you could use google drive which is free
I cant do any of these as I returned my old computer to Best Buy who has probably already killed it

Yes. Most likely Best Buy has scrapped your purchase for new parts, in order to protect your information.
There is no chance, now that it is two months later
Next time, make sure you back up all the worlds you want to keep on Drive, a USB, or some other device/method
