This problem started about a week ago. It only occurs with certain situations. Such as, another player eating food, breaking blocks (mining), opening doors, or stepping on pressure plates. It has caused me to die and it is getting to the point where it is unplayable. I've tried trouble shooting this problem by reinstalling my minecraft launcher, installing the newest version of java, and reinstalling 1.7.10 minecraft. Could really use some help with this and would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!
Your symptoms are similar to those of another problem: The world goes transparent when you have an item in your hand.
That particular problem is caused by a GPU that doesn't handle the mipmapping correctly and can be solved by turning the mipmap setting to OFF.
It happens when another person is mining blocks, breaking grass, a piston pushing a block such as in an autobrewer, standing on pressure plate, another player opening a door. I'll try to turn off the mipmap setting if I have it on.

I turned off mipmaping and it still did it. After I reset my video settings to default and it still continued.
