please forgive any of my comments I was like nine at the time of posting those
First off, update your Minecraft Launcher if you haven't for some reason. When did you install Forge? Delete your old version of Forge and try going back to the Forge website and download the recommended version of Forge that matches your Minecraft version. The website I used is files.minecraftforge.net . Select your Minecraft version, select 'Show All Downloads', then scroll through the list to find the version of Forge with a completely filled in star. That star means it is the recommended version. If you are using a Windows operating system then select the Windows download, if not, I would recommend Universal. Run the installer and make sure you select the client download (the default download location should be correct). You need to allow 'The Program' to make changes to your computer for it to work! That shouldn't be a problem if your computer doesn't ask. Now that you have Forge on your computer, open your Minecraft Launcher and select 'Edit Profile.' Find the 'Use Version' tab and select the forge version for your MC version. (Mine usually defaults to the bottom of the list.) Save your changes! Now run your Minecraft with the Forge Version selected. (Make sure you have no mods in the Minecraft folders when you do this!). When it finishes loading you can 'X' out Minecraft. To download the actual mods, download them from wherever, and I would recommend putting them on your desktop to simplify things. (Mod versions need to match your version of Forge, whether its 1.8.9, 1.8.8, 1.7.10, 1.6.9 etc.) Reopen the MC Launcher and once again select edit profile. Find the button that says 'open game directory' and click it. Now locate the folder labeled 'mods', that is where you put all the mods you downloaded in if you want them in your game. The mods in the folder need to have the same Minecraft version as the Forge you will use them with. try adding one mod at a time and test Minecraft to see if it works every time. some mods might not be compatible with each other. (If you are using 1.7.10, I would recomend installing the Fastcraft mod first to increase performance) If that doesn't work at all, try reinstalling Minecraft (You might have accidentally messed with something the first time you tried to add mods)
