Hi, last 2-3 weeks there's been this weird issue like minecraft automatically reverts progress like it never happened when i exit the game. There's been several times I've gone to play minecraft only to find I'm in a different spot where I left off last night, or somehow the ores i mined, things i built, caves/mineshafts explored are suddenly all reversed like it never happened, and I have to do it all over again.
I honestly assumed I must of been dreaming minecraft in my sleep since i tend to play it before bed since it helps me sleep. But earlier today when i played last nights "dream" just seemed way too real to be fake, so i dug down in the spot i remember digging to surface at, and i discovered a network of mineshafts and caves just like my "dream", every detail just like it remembered!
It saved this afternoon's progress, but just now, I played another 4 hours and it didn't save again! I had a feeling I'd get a crazy case of deja vu tomorrow with today's progress so I used mcedit to check in on my world just moments after i closed minecraft, and all my progress- 4 hours to work- disappeared like it never happened! Worse, the file modified time was this afternoon, meaning nothing has been saved. Now i realize those weren't dreams, but actual time I played, but all my progress erased as if it never happened.
What is causing this and how can I fix it? I don't think I can bear another massive loss of progress.
Also wondering how does minecraft autosave? Does it immediately write changes to file every autosave, or does it withhold writes to file until Minecraft program closes? Another weird thing about this is that when I go AFK for long periods of time I'd close the world but not exit the game, I can do that multiple times no problem, but sometimes when i exit the game all progress that i made on that one instance of minecraft isn't saved. So for example, if I was to open the world, play 3 hours, close world but leave minecraft running, then play another 2 hours, sometimes those 5 hours is saved, other times those 5 hours aren't saved.
Please help, Thanks in Advance
