So, I started getting a random lag since this week. My computer usually gets over 100 fps with ultra settings, but now I am barely getting 20 fps with low settings. No, my computer isn't crap. Most people here would probably say my computer sucks, but no, as I mentioned earlier, I used to run over 100 fps with ultra settings! Something I have noticed is that Minecraft is using lots of CPU usage. There is no other applications/processes doing so except minecraft. I do have a quad core and all of them are used for minecraft and I am dedicating 4GB out of 8GB of my ram.
Any help will be highly appreciated!
If you think my computer is bad, just ignore this thread and move on!

That's your issue. Minecraft doesn't need more than gb of RAM, in my experience, and it usually performs fine at default setting.
This is only true for allocations > 4GB, 4GB is about the suggested maximum that you should allocate under a heavily modded game.
While it is true that the game uses less than 1GB of RAM under vanilla with default settings, I have also observed the game using over 1 gig with 200+ mods. It's a balancing job, you have to balance memory allocation by memory usage, too much memory does make Java's GC work less often, but each time the GC collects and clears garbage, it clears it out in gigabytes at a time which can mean periodic, long lock-ups.Too little means the GC will work a lot more often, however clears a lot less out, which means quick micro-stutters where every few seconds the game locks up for a short time then comes back, repeating the cycle over again.
As I said, it's a balancing game, you have to look at how much memory the game is using, add some more on top of that to give the game breathing room, and see how it goes. If it's too little, add a bit more.

As said by Blahu, 4GB is too much to be giving, if you're playing vanilla. If it's modded, drop it down to 2 gigs unless you have a heavily modded game with 200+ mods.
Either way, I run with 4GB allocated and get 60 FPS in a heavily modded game, on a laptop at max settings. What temperature does your computer reach? What graphics card do you have? Is it a laptop? Are you running with mods?

What? How? My issue? okay xD
It's my computer's issue I'm trying to fix, that's why I posted this thread
I bolded a statement in your quote. I suppose it was easy to miss, my apologies.
