I have searched all over the internet to resolve this problem but no solution found. I reset my laptop and tried to download minecraft on it but it kept getting stuck on
Attempting to download C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\assets\objects\..........blahblah 'Resources'... (try 3)
Had local file but it was the wrong size... had (numbers) but expected (numbers)
(See attached image)
Then it finally ended with a message [ Job 'Version & Libraries' finished with 1 failure(s)! ]
Corrupted files. It should re-download the corrupted file automatically.. Try re-launching several times, if it doesn't work try removing the game completely and re-installing/downloading. Remember to backup your saves.
I've had this problem for quite a long time now but i finally got around it..basically i kinda ignored it by {uninstall it and reinstalling it} just turn off your wifi or just unplug your DSL cable then lunch minecraft and press play offline....it will start normally all you have to do now is to turn the wifi back on or just replug the DSL cable ;D it should work pretty good.
p.s: if there is texture overlapping or any other errors related to textures just download another texture-pack and use it i'd recommend using faithful HERE Good luck....also like this reply or just quote it to tell me with farther info ;D
