yesterday I discovered a world that was deep in my user files, and it's a minecraft world. I think this is my very first world, that was created back in 2009. I really want to restore this world. When I put it in my saves file it didn't even show up, so I think it might be corrupted. Any help?
It is several save file versions ago, the current versions do not know how to read it.
You would have to upgraded it by accessing it with various older versions of minecraft. Looks like It needs to be updated from alpha to mcregion format and then to anvil format.
I think loading the world with MC 1.0 will update it to mcregion, then the latest code should be able to update it to Anvil.

Here's a screenshot of the world file:

Awesome, I'll try it
edit: Seems like it didn't work properly? Just loaded new chunks like normal, no evidence of me playing on that world ever.
Guess it wasn't my first world.
