I need help with something that has happened in my survival. First of all, it's mention that this old world has since version 1.6, so if you were corrupt not surprise me (but it would be a shame).
What happened was this:
I was building a generator iron (Iron Titan, for Tango Tek) and was on the step of storing the 20 villagers on each side (a total of 40, not counting 5 which goes somewhere else); So I see my progress and my work done, I decided to back up my world (I usually do in case the original is lost).
The problem is this: when I came, I saw all the villagers who had gathered to build the villages had escaped! They were only about 5 villagers container.
The backup is saved / recorded with version 1.8.1 minecraft optifine.
I made some attempts as:
-Change To a newer version (1.8.3, 1.8.8)
I tried to enter the world without optifine, but the result is the same
I've tested do the same to contain villagers in one piece and get out, but the villagers still in the block.
I gather that this is due to backup or to close the world is a mistake, since entering again, I hear the sound of villagers hit the ground (meaning it originates to enter the world, that was not before making the backup )
I couldn't understand some points, even when reading in both languages. First of all, what was the version when the backup was made? Were the villagers already in place?
Second, updating from 1.8 to 1.8.1 or whatever, won't help/solve the problem. These are minor updates, and it's unlikely to change behaviour or hitbox or something else. Ootifine won't change anything, either. It's a graphics mod. If you updated from 1.6 to 1.8, maybe that's the problem. If you want to downgrade from 1.8 to 1.6, make sure to catalog the items in your chests, furnaces, hoppers, droppers, dispensers and inventory. They will disappear. I would suggest to catalog important mobs you have, such as pets, iron golems farmed, cows, pigs, sheep and such. They may disappear. Take a piece of paper and write every important information about your world, and, finally, make the backup. If something fails, restore the world. If nothing fails (the items WILL disappear), replace your items (enchantments won't be a problem, you can just get an anvil and a book and enchant them in creative). If the villagers are where it was supposed for them to be, backup again. Update to 1.8, but I would suggest to update to 1.7 first, since it is the natural order of the versions. If something goes wrong, then again restore from the backup. If nothing goes wrong (the items won't disappear), backup AGAIN and then update to 1.8. If something goes wrong, restore. Nothing gone wrong? Backup. Then, your world should be fine.
Any info I asked, reply to my comment, and I hope this helped.
