Hello. First post, so I hope this is an appropriate section of the forum. I am running the Minecraft demo (v1.8.9, I believe) on my granddaughter's Windows 7 laptop to make sure that it performs acceptably before purchasing it for her. The performance is a little slow, but acceptable, once the program is loaded. However, each time I run the demo, it appears that the entire program and support environment (all of the sound and jar files, at least) are downloaded from scratch. As my internet connection is relatively low-speed DSL, this is taking quite a bit of time. My question is as phrased in the subject line of this post: if I purchase the locally installed version of the game, will the client need to do massive downloads each time it is run, or is the requirement to do so specific to the demo? Thanks in advance for your help.
