I later discovered the most of the mods I want to use are 1.7.01
So I go to the forge download page and try to download the recommended download for 1.7.01, and it sends me to the adfoc.us page to start the download and the page wont load. it just has the link up at the top and a blank page. I tried refreshing the page bunch of times and nothing helped.
It may be something obvious but idk and I'm becoming stressed

If you click the version you want then click show all downloads and hover your mouse over the icon that looks like an " i " next to the download you want it should have a small box pop up with a link to the direct download that will skip the ad page - useful when encountering problems with it.
Also if you are just trying to get playing quickly with mods I recommend you check out my post about how easy it is with curse launcher
