Greetings and thank you for taking the time to read,
I had heavily modified versions of Minecraft and used different launchers throughout my time but I just recently came back to playing and I scrapped all the mods and used the official launcher and latest version of minecraft, however, I use 2 resource packs which I haven't tried taking off to see if it resolves the issue, as it shouldn't be affecting it:
S&K Photo Realism x256 V0.2.9
3D Sword Pack 4
I connect to the server fine and have full connection (4 bars) meaning my ping/latency is great, I can communicate with people fine via text and do everything fine in regards to building, breaking blocks or opening chests, managing inventory.
If I interact with passive mobs, I can attack them, feed them etc and everythings responsive and it stays like this indefinitely and nothing goes wrong. However,
When I come into proximity (relatively close it only happens) to a hostile mob, It doesn't happen with creepers or zombies not sure about endermen but it happens EVERY time with skeletons and spiders I know that for a fact and I even tested it to see if it'd do it by approaching multiple skeletons to see what occurs.
This does not happen playing single player.
This does not happen for other people on the server.
This does not happen when I attack from a ranged position(Bow) it only happens when I come into close proximity with skeletons and spiders.
Haven't connected to other servers to see if problem persists elsewhere.
(Actual problem):
When I approach a skeleton and come into that 'sweet spot' where this issue occurs, it's as if the server times out and I lost connection, the hostile mob npc stops and is standing still but still has basic animation like moving arms etc, I can move freely around everywhere and open my inventory but I can not break blocks or place things or open chests... I even attack with a sword hitting the skeleton but the npc is unresponsive and doesn't have the usual knock back or red animation or sounds.
After a given period of time such as 10-15 seconds usually, seems to be the same amount of time each time, everything that WOULD have occurred from my actions (breaking blocks, placing blocks, attacking a hostile npc) occurs INSTANTLY and all the sounds that should've happened like taking damage happens instantly and it all happens at once, so if I took a couple of hits from the skeleton from his range attacks but managed to kill him by just spamming my sword he'll suddenly not be there and I'll have the items and suddenly I'll have a lot of health missing.
This you can imagine makes it hard to play on survival at all and actually risk going anywhere at night or in caves as I can't defend myself properly.
The reason why I say it seems more it's a latency issue, because it seems like the server stops responding to my client yet the server is still receiving my input but my client is just not showing what is happening from my actions.....
It's also very curious it only happens when interacting with hostile mobs.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read,

UPDATE: Swapped client version to 1.8 (not sure if that has any affect when connecting to a server?)
and came into contact with a spider and the same issue occurs but this time it fully lost connection and resulted in the following:
UPDATE 2: Swapped to client version 1.8.7, didn't fully disconnect like above update but the same issue occurs, my client doesn't show what's happening with the server (skeletons moving/spiders moving) only when I come into close proximity with skeletons or spiders (I can use a bow to kill them fine)
... configure your launcher to stay open (this is in the profile settings).
When the error happens, go to the launcher "Game Output" tab and copy all the text and post it here, except for the line that has the "session-id" data in it.

we need game output logs.
delete the session id line though.
Could you be so kind as to explain how I would get output logs.
And as to what you mean by deleting the session id line?
