Basically what the title says. I go to realms, and it claims my client is outdated. I have 1.8.9, and the launcher doesn't detect any updates (I checked the version selector) Is this just what happens when Realms go down? Or is it something to do with my outdated Optifine?

Er, Meh, Gersh I HAVE A SIG!!! Oh what should put here? Whatever I type here defines how people see me, if I become well-known, this sig could make or break me! I need to make sure that I describe my self accurately. This sig represents all that is my being! Uh... EH... UH!!!!... hi
Realms don't support mods. Pretty sure this includes Optifine.
It does work with clientside mods, including Optifine as far as I know. Only mods that have to be installed on the server won't have any effect since, of course, mods can't be installed to a Realms server.

Can you use Realms using vanilla 1.8.9? Is it only when you are using Optifine 1.8.9 that Realms claims you're using an outdated client?
Either way, double check that you're using Optifine 1.8.9, NOT 1.8.8 or 1.8 or anything else. Way too often people assume that all 1.8 versions are identical when it comes to mods.

Nope, it's most definately Optifine 1.8.9. It's so weird because it worked perfectly w/ Optifine the day before, then yesterday it just refused to work. And it DOES work with vanilla! O_o
I'm gonna try updating Optifine and see what that does.
K, apparently I was using HD ultra G7 for 1.8.9, and when I updated to G9, it worked. So it must have something to do with the version I was using losing support from the makers or something. Thx for the help guys
