First off, my client is technically modified, but it's only Optifine that I have installed, and the modded client support forum seemed to be about problems with Forge, so I think this should still be okay here. With that out of the way, I was on LAN with my mom, and my hunger wasn't displaying properly. Whenever I lost a point, it would show that I lost the point, and then my hunger would suddenly start seemingly regenerating. But the next time I lost a point of hunger, it showed up properly again for a split second, then began "regenerating" again. My mom was the one hosting just now, and we had the same issue a few days ago when I was hosting, except it was on her screen instead of mine. Some clarification: I'm running on Windows 8.1, she's running Ubuntu, and we didn't have this problem until we started playing on 1.8.9, so I have to wonder if switching back to 1.8.8 would fix it. We have NOT tested this on any servers, so I have no idea if it's just on LAN, or if it's on Multiplayer in general. Given that it doesn't affect the host, I would guess that it probably doesn't occur in Singleplayer.
Okay, so, I figured out that the problem really was with the version of Optifine we had installed after all. I tried going back to 1.8.8, and reinstalled Optifine for that version, and had the glitch again. I tried going and 1.9 just for fun, and the glitch was gone. I tried it on 1.8.8 again, without Optifine, and the glitch was still gone. Well, now I just need to find which version of Optifine is the most recent that doesn't have the glitch. Cya guys.
