I recently installed java and noticed that I only had Java version 25. I installed the latest version of Java (version 66) but it still shows up as version 25 within Minecraft. Does this have anything to do with Minecraft having its own Java?
when the launcher was updated to install java that was the version out, it installs it because there are some people out there without java installed, and minecraft needs java
Mojang will update the launcher at some point to install a newrr java i guess, but no idea when

So all I need to do is wait and Java will be updated eventually? No need to do it manually?

Moderatoryou can do it manually, or wait, your choice
Would you expect a big increase in performance? For that matter, how do you update Java for Minecraft?
