Hi, I've been through 15 pages of this forum and found nothing on what might be an unusual situation. I have a laptop and a pc which I use to play multiplayer with my Daughter. We both have our own accounts and playing is not a problem. I usually play on the pc as it's older and slower and let her use my laptop which she hosts the game from (which means the game saves to the laptop as well). My issue is that I logged in to Minecraft on the laptop using my account to do some work in our multiplayer world while she's not here, and when I logged in I was in my avatar but in HER last position with all of her inventory items, xp etc. Is this a known glitch or is there a way of rectifying it????
Any help would be great. Both machines are running the latest version of Minecraft (java).
The host of a game is the host, always. No matter what account you log in with.
This is how downloadable adventure maps work.
Another way to do what you want to do (besides grimalq's dedicated server idea), is to launch the game as usual as your daughter, open the game to lan as usual, and connect to it from your other computer as you as usual.
However you may find that next time you log in that you have essentially cloned your daughter's info to your own player.dat and your own prior inventory is irretrievable.
Yes grimalq, a LAN game. Thanks heaps gerbil for that. Had an inkling that the host/creator might always be the 'alpha' avatar (so to speak) but hoping not. I'll just have to dump all her stuff in a chest and put it all back when I'm done. If I get something wrong with the server idea I won't hear the end of it from her.. lol. Thanks again.
