So I recently downloaded Minecraft onto my Mac with the intention of modding. I know that before you could mod it by just dropping the .jar files into the "mods" folder in the "Minecraft" folder. So I tried everything I could to find that folder, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. I did some research and found out that the update 10.11.2 "El Capitan" made it somehow that the "Minecraft" folder is gone... I have no idea where to go from here. Has anyone have an idea as to what to do?
Your minecraft folder should be at \Library\Application Support\minecraft -- I doubt it's changed in 10.11. But if you can't find it, open the Minecraft Launcher, click Edit Profile, and click Open Game Dir. That'll open your minecraft folder. Make note of what its location is.

And a few others that we don't talk about.
