I didn't see as specific section for Macs so I don't know if anyone can answer but here goes
So my son really wanted to use the Jurassic mod but we were running 1.8 with some other mods and it looks like it is only available in 1.8.8. I dropped this mod into our folder and changed the version to 1.8.8 in the profile. No mods showed up so I got the Forge for 1.8.8 and removed all of the other mods in the folder except the Jurassic one and still no mod section showed up on startup. I have tried reverting everything back to the way it was and no mods show up where they did before I started this whole mess. I have looked up videos that deal with this but no good ones for macs showed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Running OS 10.10.5

I saw this and wanted to add for clarification that when majestyc2k1 said add Forge to the Profile, he meant that you should set the downloaded Forge version, which should be for 1.8.8, as your selected version. Other than that, follow all of the steps.

Curse PremiumTry this:
1. Make a new 1.8.8 Profile
2. Make a world using this Profile to make sure everything works
3. Add Forge to the Profile
4. Make a new world with Forge to make sure everything works (always a good idea to do this first before adding any other mods)
5. Copy the mod into the mods folder under your World folder
6. Open your world. The mod should be available
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."

Began playing during Alpha 1.2.6.
Thanks,
Do the mods go in separate Mod folders or do all versions (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8) go in the same folder. Sorry so amateur.

Curse PremiumEach Profile will have a separate mods folder. Don't mix and match mods in the same folder.
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
All of the mods should also be for the Forge version you are using, e.g. If you are using 1.8.8, all mods must be for 1.8.8.
