I just got a really good graphics card and wanted to give shaders a try. I've downloaded it and it was in the minecraft profile, I selected it, clicked play, went single player and nothing seemed different. Did I need Forge to make it work? Does shaders work in multiplayer?
Later I found out that you needed to type "%appdata%" in the computer search, then go to ".minecraft" and drag the shaders download file into the "shaderpacks" folder. Next play minecraft, then you had to go to options, click shaders and select the shaders you downloaded. But it still didn't work because my shaders download wasn't there.
What went wrong? Btw I don't remember what shaders pack I downloaded.
If you're using just Shaders Mod, you'll need Forge. Install Forge, put the Shaders Mod file in the mods folder, and run the game using your Forge profile.
If you're using Optifine with built-in shader support, you can install Optifine and use your Optifine profile. If you do it this way, the Shaders button will be in Video Settings.
If I remember correctly, shaderpacks have to be either a .zip or a folder for Shaders Mod to recognize them. If they're in that format when you put them in the shaderpacks folder, it should have no problem recognizing it.

Curse PremiumYes... it does. Where did you get the idea that it didn't?
