From what I understand, client-side mods like minimaps, shaders, etc. work with Realms. However, I can't get VoxelMap to work. When I choose the liteloader profile required to use it, clicking on Realms pops up an "outdated client" message towards me. From what I understand, VoxelMap (unfortunately) doesn't work without liteloader.
Is there a way to fix this, or some kind of alternative? I just want to use my minimap, lol... Any help appreciated.
Edit: After further searching it seems that it's just not possible. How annoying.
It's possible, but Realms requires the latest version of MC, which right now is 1.8.9. I don't think LiteLoader has been updated to 1.8.9 yet -- I'd check, but LiteLoader's website appears to be down right now. But I highly doubt it. Once it has updated, you should be able to use that profile to play Realms. Alternatively, you could install Forge and run LiteLoader as a Forge "mod" -- again, once it has updated. That'd create a "litemods" folder in your mods folder.

Realistic Torches - Causes torches to burn out after a configurable amount of time.
Nature's Compass - A utility item that allows you to search for any biome's location in the world.
Minecraft Vanilla isn't awful, but it's been done to death. Mods are the lifeblood of Minecraft now, and all the patches ever do is make Realms inaccessible, and patch exploits all but maybe TEN players (out of THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS) even knew about, and maybe 5 bad the Redstone efficacy to execute.
Unless Minecraft will be implementing Voxelmap and Macroes and Optifine and expanded Video Settings (vanilla lags so hard, because we can't access most features) as an integrated feature, I really, REALLY hope they stop trying to outrun Technic and Curse with their obsessive-compulsive version changing.
Not like anything but purely Client-Sided stuff (maps, graphics, etc) will ever work anyway, so I don't get why the pathological need to one-upsmanship Mod developers is so strong in Mojang.

Notes - Provides a clientside in-game notepad.
Souls - After you die, a hostile Soul that stores your inventory will spawn.
Auto Refresh - Automatically refreshes your server list and alerts you when your selected server comes online.
Pick Block Plus - A clientside mod that significantly improves the vanilla pick block function.
And a few others that we don't talk about.
