I recently restored my computer to factory settings, saved ONLY a few screenshots, because nothing else was really that important to me, installed the current version of Java (File version 8.0.25.18), and set Javaw.exe priority to high. I then installed minecraft, am running the latest version of Optifine for 1.8.9, allocated 2GB of ram (of my 4GB computer) for minecraft, set the settings all to minimal for maximum fps, and I get around 90. The problem is, I freeze up every few seconds and my minecraft goes back to normal. My connection, or the green bar, on a server where I ran very smoothly, is now on 1-2 bars. This goes for every server.
Processor: AMD E2-1800 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.70 GHz
Ram: 4GB
System type: 64-bit OS, x64-based processor.
Basically, can someone help me to fix my minecraft from freezing every 5 seconds?
Get the latest drivers for your computer (though don't expect much from your integrated graphics.)
Close any apps that may be using some of your RAM (if you exceed your RAM limit, you'll see frequent pauses and slow down on your computer.)
Make sure you have the latest JRE and it is 64-bit (You can download it here)
Make sure your Minecraft settings are on the fastest possible settings
That's pretty much all I can say. Your laptop is going to have a hard time running a lot of things at a time seeing how it's only clocked at 1.7 ghz and it also being integrated graphics (which eat up the CPU). I was able to run Minecraft with 4 gigs of RAM on my old laptop but make sure you don't exceed it. Remember that your OS is probably already using 1g of it and since you let Minecraft take 2g of it already, you only have 1g of RAM left to spare for your other apps.

Hope it goes well.
Probably you messed up the memory allocation.
Your symptoms are consistent with having changed Xmn something you shouldn't have done.
