I am having issues with Minecraft beta's sound. Specifically, when I change the sounds to play the older ones rather than the new sounds (I.E. Old explosions and chest noises) Minecraft forces the game to use new sounds rather than the older ones even when switching out the files or going offline when switching the files. Seeing as there are no resource packs for Minecraft Beta and below I can't just shove in a resource pack and let it go.
Another issue I have is whenever I play a very old version of the game (For example, Minecraft Survivaltest or Alpha 1.0.17) I am given the options of Sound Off / On. Even when set to "on" the sounds will not play. I have heard that older versions would stream the sounds directly from their parent directory being hosted at amazon / minecraft.net (Which has had those old files since removed). However it would still be nice if there were a simple fix of some sort out there. (Perhaps a class that redefines where the sounds come from?)
