I recieved a new laptop as an early Christmas present and decided to install Minecraft on it, but when I attempt to launch the game I get this crash report:

If Windows Update or Device manager claims you have latest drivers? IT LIES!!! Microsoft wouldn't know a proper driver utility even if they got one on a silver platter.
Actually go to your GPU manufacturer's website and get latest drivers. Almost everything should have working drivers for Windows 7.

Curse PremiumIt states your current graphics drivers are not able to run MC. Check the manufacturer's website for updated drivers.

Drivers are up to date, still getting the error

Fixed the issue, restarted my computer and it worked fine
No duh, i know not to trust Windows Update, i went to the manufacturer's site, and ran their update utility, and THAT told me the drivers were up to date
like i said before the post you quoted, restarting the computer fixed the problem and now it runs great
