I was directed thru Mojang to this diagnostic:

What do I need to do next? I assume that I need a new video card for my old computer?

You are correct, you would need a more up to date hardware to run Minecraft on Windows 10.
You could try Windows 10 Edition, as that can run on pretty much anything, but I'm not even sure that would run either.
