So here's my story: I launch the Minecraft Launcher on my new Windows 10 laptop, and it lets me click 'play,' but then shortly after launching, it gives me an error report, back in the launcher, right when it would normally have shown the 'mojang' screen upon a successful startup. It gave me a link to go to with multiple fixes, some being specific to windows 10, and I tried them all. These included Updating Graphics Drivers, unchecking Java Arguments, and getting the newer version of the launcher (via the downloadable .msi on minecraft.net). None of them worked, and after trying all of them, neither launcher will launch the game without giving me the same error.
The site told me that in this case I was to come to one of the major minecraft forums with my DxDiag info, and so here I am, and here's my information:
Unfortunately your graphics hardware is not supported on Windows 10, you will need to downgrade to Windows 7, upgrade your graphics hardware (Not possible on a laptop), or use another computer to play Minecraft.
