I have experienced trouble playing the 1.8 version with forge 11.14.1.1410
Any new world gets corrupted (As in does not show up on the "choose a world to load" screen before a week or so has passed. Downloaded maps also have this issue, so it is likely a mod thing. The system, a 4GB RAM laptop, does not lag. OS is Windows 8, Java is 64-bit.
A screenshot of the mods folder is below. (The CMD files folder generated spontaneously due to Custom Music Discs.)
Not really much you can do than go trough with a process of elimination. Try removing one by one mod each time it causes a corruption. It will eventually reveal the culprit if it's the mod(s) causing corruption. I know it's a long and boring process. Other possible way is to keep trying to fix the world with MCEdit, but if it's the mod(s) causing this, there is a high chance it will become corrupted again.
So you are better off trying to eliminate the problem in the root rather than just shoving it under a rug.
