I have been looking at many threads for an answer to my problem for a while but I can't seem to find a way to fix this problem.
The Problem :
I can open the launcher just fine but when I click the play button it will quickly show the crafting table on the tool bar but then it crashes and says

I have tried updating my laptop's software aswell but no luck.
When I try to update the software with system update it will kind of install but when it restarts the computer it is stuck at the little galaxy background.
I have tried letting it sit there for hours and even days but it wont go. It just is stuck. I looked a fix for this up many times but still, no luck.
I also know that the download is not wrong or damaged because I have downloaded it over and over again.
I knew I probably had to update my mac but the problem is, it will not update. I have let it update for a week before but it gets stuck when it restarts.

This is a known issue with some OS X versions

This. In my little experience with Macs, they either run soundly, or stutter and die. Might be time for a new computer. May I suggest Windows?
