Hello! I have been having a problem with getting Newt_head's mod "ChristmasCraft" to work. I am running 1.6.2 Forge with a 1.6.4 version but in the past I have found 1.6.4 mods to be compatible with 1.6.2 Forge. I can't get the mod to work. I have gone over the crash report multiple times and I STILL have not been able to solve the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I can try running it on 1.6.4. However, I have indeed experienced 1.6.4 working on 1.6.2. For instance, for some reason, the Aether mod is no longer available for 1.6.2. Only 1.6.4. So I tried it with some 1.6.2 mods on 1.6.2 Forge. Must've been a fluke. Anywhoo, is there any way I can downgrade ChristmasCraft to work with 1.6.2 mods? I've looked over and over, and I can't seem to find a version of ChristmasCraft for 1.6.2. So my question is... can I make a 1.6.4 mod into a 1.6.2 mod? Thanks!
Okay... now can we please get back to my original question??
Is it possible, and if so, how easy is it to convert mod versions.
I would like to change the coding in the mod so that it is compatible with 1.6.2 mods. How do I do that?
In most cases, it is not easy, legal, or even possible to convert a mod to a different version. If you have access to the source code, it is possible if you have a decent knowledge of Java and Forge. That said, it may not be legal depending on the license the mod is available under. If you do not have access to the source code, it is not possible. Period.
Now, about Aether specifically... to my knowledge, Aether is not open source. As I said earlier: if you do not have access to the mod's source code, it is not possible. Even if it were open source... as I said above, it would probably not be easy or legal.

Here is a link to the Aether mod for 1.6.4:
http://minecraft-forum.net/minecraft-mods-downloads/1-6-2-aether-2-mod-download-2/#.VlosIXarQrg
Now that we have that out of the way, I would like to reiterate my question:
Is it possible, and if so, how easy is it to convert mod versions.
E.g. I would like to run ChristmasCraft with some 1.6.2 mods.
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Okay, then how about this:
http://www.aetherii.com/downloads
the official website has 1.6.4.
Okay... now can we please get back to my original question??

If you have access to the source code, it is possible if you have a decent knowledge of Java and Forge. That said, it may not be legal depending on the license the mod is available under. If you do not have access to the source code, it is not possible. Period.
Now, about Aether specifically... to my knowledge, Aether is not open source. As I said earlier: if you do not have access to the mod's source code, it is not possible. Even if it were open source... as I said above, it would probably not be easy or legal.
Realistic Torches - Causes torches to burn out after a configurable amount of time.
Nature's Compass - A utility item that allows you to search for any biome's location in the world.
Notes - Provides a clientside in-game notepad.
Souls - After you die, a hostile Soul that stores your inventory will spawn.
Auto Refresh - Automatically refreshes your server list and alerts you when your selected server comes online.
Pick Block Plus - A clientside mod that significantly improves the vanilla pick block function.
And a few others that we don't talk about.
That's too bad...
So you're telling me there is no way to change the .jar or .zip file to a different version?
Ah, I see. Thank you!
