I accidentally changed the default program to open .Jar files with 7zip and now when I go back to the binary program a cmd window opens for a split second then nothing happens. I have gone through all my java folders and tried every exe and Re-downloaded Java a few times. I really need to get forge. Please help.
I just need to open the .jar executable for forge. Its really important. My minecraft works, its just my java that is messed up or something.
What are you opening it with currently? Still 7zip?
Right-click the .jar and hover over Open with. Select "Java(TM) Platform SE Binary" if it an option. If it's not an option, click Choose another app. If Java is on that list, select it. Otherwise, click Look for another app on this PC, navigate to C:\Program Files\Java\jre(version number)\bin, and select javaw.exe.
Or you could just try using the Windows installer, assuming you are using Windows.

Realistic Torches - Causes torches to burn out after a configurable amount of time.
Nature's Compass - A utility item that allows you to search for any biome's location in the world.
in that case i hate windows, ether switch to mac, get a new version of java (ie redownload it), or use multimc. sorry for not being very helpful.

"Switch to mac"
...Do you really expect OP to buy a Mac to "fix" this issue? What the heck? That's not a solution. The solution is very likely to be a simple as manually selecting the Java executable to run the .jar, or using the Windows installer.

i would recommend using a program called multimc, multimc simplifies every aspect of installing mods, and mod packs, hope this helps.
