Ok, I bought a PC for 700$ last christmas, and when I recorded I usually got a solid 50 or 60 FPS. Then one day, I update my graphics card : When I record I drop down to 10 frames. What? I tried redownloading fraps and still nothing changed. Even my old crappy laptop recorded better then how I'm recording right now. I am also using optifine (the shaders 1.8.8 version)
What did you change between when you were getting 60 fps and when you were getting 10? Mods added? Shaders added? Driver updates? JVM arguments? Settings? Anything?

Realistic Torches - Causes torches to burn out after a configurable amount of time.
Nature's Compass - A utility item that allows you to search for any biome's location in the world.
Well that is something you should have said, instead of saying, "one day, all of the sudden". what was it before and what did you change it to, and is it a laptop, if so is minecraft using the dedicated card?
Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't properly explain that when I mean "Update" I mean a computer graphics card update, I did not actually buy a new graphics card. (Oh and by the way I'm using Intel HD graphics)

So, driver update?
You mentioned "Optifine (the 1.8.8 shaders version)" - are you using a shader pack? With integrated graphics and recording software running, I'd expect to get very low fps.
What are your JVM arguments?
If you say that you were getting 60 fps before the driver update, and 10 fps now, it may be worth a shot to try reverting to your old drivers if possible. It may not fix the issue, but it's certainly worth a try if you say that's the only thing you changed in that time span.
