So when I first got Minecraft a few months ago, I created 2 world right off the bat, a survival and a creative. The next time I got on to play, both worlds were gone, I was confused but I just created and new world and have been playing on it for a while. Now, I've gone on and those two worlds that I first created are there and my other world is gone. I don't know why this is. I have the Windows 10 if anyone knows how to work that with this situation. Most things I've seen are on Apple computers and I'm not sure how to adapt it to Windows. I really liked my other world and I was getting really far on it. If anyone can help, THANKS!
Recuva is a program that allows you to possibly recover deleted files. Just open the program and let it scan. Search for your world and try to recover it. This thing saved my butt when my hard drive got corrupted. Download it now because the longer you wait the less chance you have of getting your file back. I was quick enough to save most of my files, but you may not be.

First they have worlds A & B, later they have world C, then they have worlds A & B again.
You are using multiple different game directories, these are configured via the profile settings.
and / or you are using something that changes %APPDATA% and using it inconsistently. (like a bat file to launch minecraft).
