Ok, so I decided to make a Nether portal and do a quick look-around for a nether fortress. I made the portal & it loaded up for the 1st time, and when it loaded up, I lost 1/2 a heart, no big issue. But when I went back to the overworld, I caught fire! I looked around on the internet to see if anyone else had this problem, and apparently I'm the only one. Theoretically, the portal could've almost put me in a lava pool since my portal & home is near lots of it, but I think that's kind of doubtful.
The majority of the information which Elystus recommended having is below. However, since the OS isn't on the list, I'm using a Windows 10 32-bit, which was once a Windows 7 32-bit.

IF you have lava directly below the portal (one block down) that is exactly what happened.
