My minecraft username is [email protected],com and today the launcher prompt me to relogin to continue. I type in my password and I can't enter the game. So I use the reset password function and changes password. But even with copy pasting the password, I can't login to minecraft.net or the minecraft launcher.
Make sure you are entering your username and password correctly. I MEAN IT. You typed your email wrong in your message so I hope that's not how you typed it into the launcher.
But if that still doesn't work, try hitting up MC support. They can usually help with issues like this.
After 3 incorrect login attempts, a lockout is placed automatically by Mojang's systems on your network to protect accounts against brute force attacks to gain access.
This lockout is automatic and cannot be overridden, it expires after 3 hours. Wait 3 hours, don't log in at all. Reset your password using https://account.mojang.com/password -- then try again.

3 hours!!!! D: and there was no warning or notice about this! I am pretty sure the first password was correct... argghh
The error wasn't 'too many failed login' fyi
This is what I got on the website: Oops, unknown username or password. If you are logging in with a Mojang account make sure to use your e-mail address as username.
Thanks for your help though, I will try in three hours.
the system doesn't say its too many failed attempts, just shows incorrect details, thats the way Mojang made the system, nothing anyone can do about it, you'll just have to wait
You can think what you want, but keep in mind that this feature is in place for your own protection, and the protection of your online accounts. It would not be good if you lost access to your account, or if an attacker was able to obtain even more information about you or your other online accounts by obtaining your password.
I, for one, think this is evidence that Mojang is doing account security perfectly fine.

The part that it doesn't say what happens is stupid. It put me into panic, digging to the support page gives out nothing.. I only get answer after I post here. That is where it is stupid.

I don't want to get to wildly off topic, but I've found the support page unhelpful in general. Directly talking to Mojang support, or posting questions here is the best bet. Just for a future reference.
