I'm using the 1520 version of forge, as it seems I was told that it's the only one that will work with Optifine atm. Most of the mods are 1.8 with the exception of a few, the ones that are 1.7, I'm unable to find a 1.8 version, some claim to be 1.8 on a download but are infact 1.7 when you actually download them, so I have no idea. So unless the ones that are 1.8 need a later version of forge, I guess I can't do anything about them.
Edit: Just tried the latest version of forge without Optifine and they still don't load. On another note it seems there's a 4th inventory tab but there's nothing in it.
I don't expect them to work, I do however ask that 1.8 mods work with 1.8, and that at least have the right info when attempting to download. 99% of the mods out there seem to be for 1.7 but a good majority of em say 1.8/1.7. I don't get why some 1.7 mods will work for 1.8 yet others don't. I really don't get the need to make everything in 1.7, 1.8 came out over a year ago and yet people are still fiddling around with 1.7.

Also, recall that 1.8 was in development for almost a year. There were major overhauls to many parts of minecraft, which means modders will have to overhaul sections of their code. These modders are also still trying to deal with the 1.7 update, and many still hadn't gotten a stable release out for 1.7 at the time 1.8 came out.There's also the fact that many modders like to release new content when they update their mod to a new minecraft version. And on top of all of this, remember that no modder (AFAIK) mods minecraft full-time, which means they have very limited time to work on mods, time that they may, at times, like to be spending with family or friends.
All the sites i've gone to are legal sites, hell you can find the 1.8/1.7 all over the place here.
RIght I know that people don't have time to mod fulltime, but I mean it's not like the 1.8 was released 2 months ago, it's over a year, it's just lazy on the modders part because they don't want to take the time to fully learn the new system. I've seen updates to mods for 1.7 as little as a week ago, but nothing about 1.8.
Anyhow most of that is just whatever, I can't control a modder but I would like to get the mods at least the ones that claim are 1.8 to work or get a hold of a working 1.8 door and good biome mod, that has resource pack support. Any recommendations or the likes would be helpful.
Forgive me, I'm completely new at all this mod stuff. I seem to have issue's with a few mods not loading, no errors they just don't show up in game.

I know a few are only 1.7 but I have at least 2 other mods for 1.7 that seem to work just fine in the 1.8 version.
