I know there is a version of Minecraft made just for Windows 10 but I want to play the original version of Minecraft. But whenever I go to install it, it asks me to sing it but doesn't let me. It keeps saying what is in this screenshot: SCREENSHOT . So I'm just wondering when will the original Mnecraft start working for Windows 10?

The link I provided is just a screen shot link made by Puush. My Laptop said it was compatible with Windows 10 so I upgraded to it.

I use my computer's default AV which in my case is Windows Defender. Should I use a different AV and see if it works?

This sounds more like a Winsock or firewall issue. Windows Defender should not cause such issue as it has no true way to do such.

To reset WinSock:

1. Click on Search/Cortana box and type in CMD.
2. Right click on Command Prompt and Run as administrator.
3. In Command Prompt type netsh winsock reset then Enter.
4. Now type in netsh int ipv4 reset then Enter.
5. Lastly type in netsh int ipv6 reset then Enter.
6. Restart the machine.

To reset Windows Firewall:

1. Right Click on Start Button and then find and Open Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel navigate to Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall.
3. In the left window panel find and click on Restore Defaults.
4. In this new window, click Restore Defaults button and select OK when prompted to.
5. When finished Restart the machine.

Thank you SeaWry. It was the WinSock which was causing the problem.
