Lately my minecraft had been acting strange. It will be fine for the most part but when I click my mouse, especially rapidly like using a sword, it'll go unresponsive and the screen will go white for a fraction of a second and then go to normal and back and forth so on and so on. I don't know what I can do, I've looked up a lot of solutions but it seemed none of them had the same issue. Bear in mind this happens on the menu as well as in game. Anyone know what might be happening and how to fix it?
if you're running mods it might because minecraft is using a lot of ram and temporarily running out of memory and crashing. you could try to allocate more ram if you have enough to spare any more. no idea about the clicking thing though, that part sounds really weird.

I don't know what causes this, but I just thought I'd tell you the same thing happens to me. I restart Minecraft.
Just to let you know you're not alone
The signature is a lost art.
I'm thinking maybe java needs an update, or maybe I need to just reinstall minecraft...and redo my mods... yay....

It happened way before I used mods, but the ram thing you said makes sense.
