[Recording in 1080p60 With two monitors (one with the game on) using Action!]
~130 - Jittery when fullscreen
~230 - smooth when windowed
Any other settings for recording eg; 720p60 or 1080p30 work fine, but for reporting hackers on a mysterious server requires most of the time 1080p60 (for zooming and such) unfortunately.
I would love any info on this as I thought fullscreen was meant to give better fps.
the lagometer would look like this in fullscreen
But in windowed like this (sorry about it being dark, i had a gui open)
Wait so let me get this straight. You have bought Millris Action just for recording hackers and you complain about getting 180fps while recording? That isn't bad at all in fact that is great. Also if you are uploading this to youtube and dont get 60 fps its because of your upload speed. From what you say there are no problems. Having more than 60FPS is not bad its really good.
Dude, That is not lag, Look up How those work, Even the best Computer drops a lot of Frames while recording, I drop from 120+ to like -40, So you must have a pretty good PC in order to Run at The 2nd Best res, While recording and getting 100+ fps. And no One is Being mean about it.

To explain what's going on here, both recording knocking down your performance and fullscreen knocking down your performance are both expected.
Recording is self-explanatory, it's putting more stress on your computer as your computer is having to capture video at the same time as render out a horribly inefficiently coded game. Recording will shave off FPS for any game, for the majority of systems, just the way technology works.
When you fullscreen your game you're upping the resolution from the default (from memory? Correct me if I'm wrong) which is about 800x600 or something close to that, to 1920x1080. Even a slight increase from say 1024x768 to 1280x720 will cause your game to run poorer, imagine what a 5x increase to the amount of pixels being rendered would do to performance, and this is the same for any game. That's why 4K is only able to be played by uber computers that have $500+ graphics cards, unless you turn the settings to the minimum.
The statement of "fullscreen = more FPS" is correct to a degree. The way that I understand it, when a game is full-screened it runs in an "exclusive render" mode, that means it has direct control over the rendering on that screen, in simpler terms, the game is the only thing that is being displayed on that screen, Windows takes a break from rendering whatever is on that screen. However when the game is windowed, it has to run through Windows' window manager, which decides where exactly the application / game should display it's output on the screen, naturally this means a slight hit to performance. This is universal across applications, if an particular application is in full-screen mode Windows doesn't have to render whatever is behind it because well, you can't see it, so why waste resources? Though this depends on the application and how it works, so don't take this as law. This is the main reason why when alt-tabbing from a game running in full-screen your computer temporarily hitches and locks up while it's swapping the game out from being rendered, it's having to restart the entire process of working out where everything has to be displayed again.
However, the increase in performance is only observed under specific conditions. If you have a computer with 2 Titan X's in SLI together, you'll see a slight increase in performance when going to full screen with Minecraft, however if you have some low-end Intel integrated GPU (basically one of the worst GPUs you can get), full-screening will result in worse performance than windowed because the impact of rendering about 5x as many pixels as running it windowed by far outweighs the increase in performance due to Windows taking a break for a while.
Your playing at the 2nd highest resolution no wonder your getting fps drops
1080p is not the 2nd highest, the second highest would be 4K if you count super-scaled resolution (playing at 8K but down-scaling to 4K or 1440p) as "proper" resolution. Above 1080p is 1440p, then 2K, then 4K, then if you have the computer to run it and the game supports super-scaling at this resolution, 8K downscaled to 4K or 1440p. So, 1080p is actually the 5th highest resolution, not 2nd.

That was amazing, you answered everything I needed - thanks
So I guess in short I can't record Fullscreen MC then, that sucks but I spose I can deal with the black bars
There's just one thing I am unsure about; Why is fullscreen not just lower fps if we are going off what you said?
For me it is a slightly lower framerate of Windowed with Recording, its just severely jittery (And hard to play with in pvp I might add, as I end up with very noticeable screen taring)
PS yeah sorry ninja I spose saying it was mean was a little out of line.

Kinda don't get what you're asking, but I think you meant you're getting stuttering rather than just low FPS outright? Unfortunately that'd be down to both how unoptimised the game is and your CPU probably spiking in usage, causing little hiccups. Along with the world loading, perhaps, too.

Oh dearI see I have sent the wrong messageFirst things first, Action isn't just for hackers. And second, yes I know 180fps is great, its that it becomes severely choppy while recording only in fullscreen, windowed is as smooth as silk fpsSorry if I caused confusion xDI was simply asking if anyone had any idea of something that may help
Check the top post for a more specific version
I c no one has any ideas besides being mean?
