This error (Java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: No further information) is insane! I got it, and now I have no idea how to fix it. And, yes... it makes it so that I can't play online!
Here's what I've tried:
Replaced my .minecraft folder
Restarted my computer twice
Made sure Java was updated
Checked my hosts file in C:/Windows/System32/Hosts for any errors
I've followed your advice, but guess what? That still didn't work! I have "Trend Micro Internet Security" and I turned off pretty much everything that I thought would be blocking Java or anything else, I did the same for my firewall, but I turned EVERYTHING off in the firewall. I'm not sure if you've seen a case like this before, but I still hope that you can help me!

Usually caused by antivirus or firewall blocking Java from using the network.
