those of you wondering why i don't have an active RP (so far none). i try. but whenever i get to the rules section of it my computer restarts. computer: i realise what your telling me and i give up.
Minecraft can't directly make your computer restart.
However if your computer decides that it is overheating, then it can automatically shut off.
A computer in good working order should not overheat, but blocked or damaged fans, dust buildup, or poorly connected heat sinks (sometimes due to aging of thermal paste) can lead to overheating.
Power issues can also lead to shutdown of course, i.e. if your computer has a battery, and the charger isn't charging providing enough power.

I'm using a macbook pro (with harddrive) and it started to restart
normally i wouldn't think anything of it. because ten seconds after logging id be mining, or crafting. or chasing here.
but today it restarted i logged in and within 10 minuets it restarted.
i was in my minecraft world called 4000^2
the first time it restarted it was in minecraft.
then i noticed that whenever it restarts I'm playing minecraft.
my specs are
OS X El Capitan
version 10.11
macbook pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
processor 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
memory 8 Gb 1333 Mhz DDR3
startup disk Macintosh HD
graphics Intel HD graphics 3000 512 MB
my minecraft version is 1.9 snapshots, but has been happening since 1.8.4

it has a battery, but its always at 99%
i can't hear my fan so i don't think its overheating.
it could be ageing because it is old (2011)

.. you can't hear your fan and you jump to the conclusion that it is NOT overheating?
Starting MC usually causes a fan to rev up to compensate. If it doesn't, then your fan is likely broken.
I didn't say that i dint think it was revving up, i said i don't think its overheating.
