For some reason Forge doesn't work with Optifine in 1.8. (Which really sucks in my opinion) So I just got the raw Optifine installer.
Forge does work with Optifine in 1.8, but there is Optifine for 1.8.8, 1.8.7, 1.8.4, etc, and only Forge for 1.8. Make sure you are using Optifine 1.8, not any other version.

Reading page 1, post 1, (including ALL links and spoilers) plus the last 5 pages of posts (open and at least glance at all links and spoilers) for every Mod you consider using. I think the Forge stuck at 1.8 vs anything Optifine above 1.8, has been discussed 2 or 3 times per page, since Optifine exceeded 1.8.

Hi there, i have Minecraft 1.8.3 with Forge (11.14.3.1450) recommended version for 1.8.3
i have a few mods instaled and not a single problem at all, but when i try to add Optifine
the client closes every time, and not even a crash report pops out. nothing, just wont launch the game at all.
But when i choose the optifine profile in the launcher starts fine, but no Forge.
Things that i've tried:
- Uninstaling Minecraft and forge from sracht 3 times.
- Latest version of Forge (11.14.3.1521).
- Older versions of Optifine. (All 1.8.3 versions)
- Only mod installed Optifine.
- Coping the Optifine file in ".minecraft\libraries\optifine\OptiFine\1.8.3_HD_U_D3\1.8.3_HD_U_D3" to the mods folder.
- Post a thread on minecraft forums.
- Set on fire my pc.
My Minecraft stuff:
-Minecraft 1.8.3
-Forge 11.14.3.1450 (recommended version)
-Optifine 1.8.3 HD U D3 (latest version)
Mods installed:
-1.8 ArmorStatusHUD
-1.8 bspkrsCore
-Better Villages
-More Deadly Mobs
-Xaeros Minimap
Help is REALLY appreciated, i'm losing my mind on this.

Curse Premium1.8.3...? Forge does not exist for 1.8.3. Install Optifine 1.8, not 1.8.3.

Auto Refresh - Automatically refreshes your server list and alerts you when your selected server comes online.
Pick Block Plus - A clientside mod that significantly improves the vanilla pick block function.
And a few others that we don't talk about.
