I am trying to use shaders and optfine at the same time but this keeps happening with every menu I go in and I cant read anything because well its all grey boxes so if anyone can help me if would be greatly appreciated if you need a crash report I will gladly give it to you Thank you
Actually there are some shaders packs that need resource packs to run properly.
As far as I know they're just recommended for use with the shaders, not required - i.e. Chroma Hills with SEUS. I have yet to see one that actually requires a specific resource pack - and like sazrocks said, that's definitely not his issue right now.

Read shadersmod instructions. Seriously, the amount of people who don't read instructions then come here complaining about problems...

You need a texture pack I think. Also we need to know what shaders pack you are using. Also this might happen if you don't have custom fonts allowed.
None of these make any sense, especially the second one, considering he isn't even in a world.

1. He isn't in a world, so no shader packs are being loaded.

Notes - Provides a clientside in-game notepad.
Souls - After you die, a hostile Soul that stores your inventory will spawn.
Auto Refresh - Automatically refreshes your server list and alerts you when your selected server comes online.
Pick Block Plus - A clientside mod that significantly improves the vanilla pick block function.
And a few others that we don't talk about.
