Ok so I've been playing on PC for two or three weeks and I'm so confused.
1) Why wont anything for multiplayer load?
2) Why do I have to download a different app just to run texture packs? (I cant find any that will work any other way)
3) When is 1.9 being released? (haven't seen a date for it yet)
4) Am I able to play multiplayer with a few friends without creating a whole new server?
5) Would anyone like to play together? I really want to do a group thing so I can learn more but cant figure it out on my own since no one i really know plays PC...

1. It could be for a ton of reasons, I'd say the most likely cause is a firewall issue. Seeing how this is mostly support issues I'll move this to that section.
2. No idea what you mean by this, can you elaborate? That should be a simple method of downloading and dropping into the correct folder. Unless you mean something like 7zip or Winrar, which are used to extract zip or rar files, which are like compressed containers. The two I mentioned are safe. Not sure what the issue is with them not working for you either, can you explain what you are trying?
3. Whenever it is done. They don't give a timeframe and this has big changes.
4. If they are all at your house connected to the same network, you can make a LAN game. Otherwise there are things like Hamachi, but generally if you aren't all near each other you need to have a server to play together.
5. Use the Servers section to find servers and people to play with. Link: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/servers/pc-servers

2) you don't need any special app and you probably downloaded something bad. there are sites that distribute bad things as minecraft assets.
step 1: download a texture pack (will be a zip file). step 2: open the game, click the options button, then resource packs then open folder. step 3: copy the zip file there. do not unpack, copy the zip there. step 4: restart the game. step 5: go to resource packs screen, find the new one in the left panel, move to right panel.

for the second one like i cant open any files or drag them anywhere. When I try to download a texture pack it tells me that I have incompatible software and need to download an app that costs like $30. It wont fully download any of the texture packs. idk if its just my computer or something but its annoying. and Thank you
Like when i try to load multiplayer it will sit on the loading screen until I back out of it. I've left it to load for hours and it wouldn't load anything. and idk if it'll work but ill try that for downloading if it'll let me download the file, thanks!!
You are getting resource packs from the wrong places. Sounds like you are at some scam / ripoff site.
Mutiplayer doesn't just pop up a list of servers for you to play on. You have to manually add servers that you want to use to the list, and then the stay there. There are lots of servers and many of them are restricted access in some way.
