Hello friendly folks on the forums. I'v recently installed mods onto my Minecraft, and I have found that some of the recipes of particular mods wont show when hovering over the item in the menu and then pressing "R" using the NotEnoughItems mod, in a matter of fact I cant find the recipes of them in game at all, I actually have to go to the mod page and look them up manually. As you can imagine, this is incredibly annoying. A list of all the mods installed can be found below along with a list of the mods that wont show there recipes.
My guess is that there is more to crafting than regular crafting recipes. An example of this in vanilla is when you repair armor in the crafting window, this isn't handled the same way normal crafting is - a different system handles it. I'm guessing NEI doesn't use this because there would be too many possibilities, and this is what the mods you mention use for crafting.
But why would entire mods use this separate system to craft items? wouldn't it make sense if they all just used the same system? For what its worth, I just installed a totally new version of minecraft 1.7.10 with strictly NotEnoghItems and Applied Energistics 2 and the recipes for Applied Energistics 2 were there and showing. Is it possible that some mods might be clashing and causing this? And thank you so much for your reply

Some mods have a special crafting block/item due to special requirements, Thaumcraft has the Arcane Crafting Table for recipes that use Vis. Often these mods support NEI or there is an NEI plugin that adds support.
